Birthday and Special Occasion Cakes
Let Chef Paul's prepare your next birthday or special
occasion cake (including custom wedding cakes). All cakes are made from
scratch in our kitchens and decorated entirely to your specifications. Below
is a list of options to create your special cake. If you do not see what you
are looking for below please call us at (847)623-8750 (ask for Ginger) and we
will do our best to accommodate your special requests.
Special Requests
We have created completely edible flower arrangements topped
with butterflies, hats adorned with realistic edible roses, tugboats, teddy
bears, women's torsos (in good taste), and even an 18" bass copied from a
husband's fishing trip photo. We look forward to outlandish requests!
Cake Sizes
6 inch serves 4-6 $15.00 and up
10 inch serves 12-16 $21.00 and up
12 inch serves 25-30 $45.00 and up
16 inch serves 60-80 $75.00 and up
1/4 sheet serves 8-10 $15.00 and up
1/2 sheet serves 30-40 $30.00 and up

Cake Types
Chocolate Cake-Moist Cake with a rich, dark chocolate color.
Yellow Cake-Moist and light vanilla cake.
Chocolate or Yellow Pound Cake- This cake is made with
butter, sugar, flour, and sour cream and is much denser than our chocolate or
yellow cakes. (Additional charge applies.)
Pumpkin Cake-A moist, light cake with pumpkin in the mix.
This cake tastes best when filled and frosted with cream cheese icing.
Pineapple Cake-A moist cake with pineapple in the mix. This
cake has a texture similar to carrot cake and tastes best when filled and
frosted with cream cheese icing.
Carrot Cake-The moistest carrot cake you'll ever find. This
cake is flavored with cinnamon and loaded with fresh, sweet, ground carrots.
This cake is denser than our other flavors and tastes best when filled and
frosted with cream cheese icing. We do not put nuts or raisins in the mix but
will on request. (Additional charge applies).
Cheesecake- Our cheesecake is made with lots of cream
cheese, eggs, and heavy cream. It is much denser than gelatin based
cheesecakes but is a dream to savor in any of the endless varieties of flavors
we offer. (Additional charge applies).

Frosting:
White Buttercream-Made the old fashioned way with real
butter, sugar, and milk. Very rich.
Chocolate Buttercream- Dark and fudgey. Made the same way as
the white buttercream with cocoa added.
Whipped Cream-We frost our cakes with real dairy whipped
cream. The flavor is extremely light and not too sweet. These cakes must be
refrigerated and decoration possibilities are limited.
Chocolate Whipped Cream-Same as above but with a touch of
cocoa mixed in.
Cream Cheese-A denser frosting made with whipped cream
cheese and butter. Combines best with carrot, pumpkin, or pineapple cake.
Rolled Fondant- Rolled fondant is a confectionary dough made
from sugar. The texture is similar to that of marzipan but the flavor is much
milder. Fondant is rolled out and molded over buttercream or cream cheese
frosting to the shape of the cake giving it a porcelain like appearance.
Rolled fondant adds elegance to any cake. There is a considerable additional
charge for rolled fondant which varies according to cake size and desired
decoration.
Decoration:
Our cakes are decorated entirely to your specifications, or
you can let us be creative if you so desire. We do not use any plastic
figurines or lay-on patterns unless provided by the client. We will be happy
to recreate an invitation or cartoon for your cake top but we request that you
bring us a picture of how you would like it to appear. Our highly creative
staff can bake you a cake to look like just about anything you desire if you
give us sufficient advance notice. Some decorations may incur an additional
charge but you will be notified upon ordering your cake if this is the case.
Handling:
All of our cakes are made from scratch with the freshest
ingredients. They are fragile and require refrigeration until they are to be
served. The only exception is our buttercream cakes. Since they are made with
real butter they should be refrigerated until about 2 or 3 hours before your
event and then left at room temperature for the butter to soften.

Need it for Saturday-Order by Wednesday
We are closed Sunday and Monday but most of our cakes hold
extremely well under refrigeration for up to 3 days.
